Second Wind |
Second
Wind
is a family band that makes their home in the mountains of Colorado.
The band plays a mixture of Colorado-style bluegrass, original folk tunes,
and gospel, with an occasional Celtic or classical piece thrown in. Second
Wind is the Thompson family: Joel, the dad, plays guitar and sings; Mary,
the mom, plays bass and sings back-up harmonies; 18-year-old son, Travis,
plays mandolin and guitar and sings lead and back-up; and 15-year-old
daughter, Breanna, plays violin and guitar and sings lead and back-up
vocals. They have been playing together at festivals, acoustic societies,
churches, and numerous small town venues for four years now.

Fireweed
|
Fireweed Bluegrass Band was
formed in 1989. Traditional, contemporary and Gospel bluegrass are the
band's main focus with and emphasis on original Gospel tunes. Fireweed has
had many configurations over the years, and currently consists of 5
players who have been together since 1996. Damian Rotolo on the stand-up
bass, Jim Schaffer fiddle, David Foncannon mandolin, Joel Thompson rhythm
and lead guitar and last but certainly not least Tom Thornburg on the
banjo.
If you attend a Fireweed concert, it becomes immediately obvious that the band members are having fun, and this extends to the audience. Fireweed is the host band to the popular "Bluegrass on the River Festival" hosted by the Greenway and Nature Center of Pueblo the weekend after Memorial Day. email us @ softlib@comcast.net |

Sugarfoot
|
Jerry and Sandy have been entertaining for many years both individually and as partners. Before performing as a duo, they were part of two other bands with a longevity that is unheard of in today's music industry. As part of the other band they were winners of various awards and competitions. They also shared the stage with such performers as Kitty Wells, Jeannie C. Riley, Razzey Bailey and Jimmy C. Newman. Since moving to Colorado, Sugarfoot has recorded two CD's and performs at local and regional venues, including the popular Wet Mountain Western Days in Westcliffe.
